NEW ENDINGS

NEW ENDINGS offers resistance to everyday racism and violence by means of self-empowerment. The performers take the power to retell violent or traumatic experiences and let them end anew. The new outcomes of their experiences take away the feeling of "If only I had ..." as an invitation to travel back to the situations and do what was not possible in the paralyzing moment: to react, to amaze, to defend themselves with all - performative - means and to rewrite history with humour. The artistic team around Stefanie Sourial, Hyo Lee, Faris Cuchi Gezahegn, Patu, Janine Jembere and Sunanda Mesquita assert themselves against experienced attacks, awaken past events and transform them into music, live drawings and a performance full of power and humor.
